Fittings

Not sure which is the best harness for dogs? Or unsure how to measure a dog for a harness? We're here to help!

Over the years, we have built up a collection of harnesses that are safe, secure, allow natural and free-range of movement, and meet a range of needs. Some dogs might need a lightweight harness that they can barely feel on; others might need something more supportive; some might need a harness that they can't back out of, or one that's less invasive to put on.

We have years of experience fitting harnesses for dogs of all shapes and sizes. When helping you to decide on the right harness for your dog, we take various factors into consideration, such as breed, body type, age, health, activity, and behavioural issues.

We offer muzzle and coat/jumper fittings too! And while the majority of fittings we do are for dogs, we can also assist you with finding the right size harness, coat, or jumper for your cat!

In-store fittings FAQ

What will happen at the fitting?

We will size the equipment to your dog. If we need to try multiple sizes, we will make adjustments while the equipment is off of your dog to make the experience as stress free as possible for them. We use positive reinforcement and read your dog's body language to check they are comfortable every step of the way.

You can either opt for a hands-off fitting (where we talk you through it) or have us fit it. Your choice should be based on your dog’s emotional welfare (whether you fumbling with the equipment for the first time is less stressful than them being handled by an unfamiliar person).

What should we do when we arrive at the shop for our fitting?

Upon arrival please keep your dog in the car and pop in to check we are ready for you. Please debrief the team on whether your dog is sensitive to other dogs or unfamiliar people or whether they have allergies.

Is there anything we need to do to prepare for the fitting?

Fittings can be stressful for dogs so we advise that you bring them in on a day when they won't have additional stressors (i.e., please do not bring them in after a visit to the groomers or vets).

It's also helpful to make sure they've eliminated before the appointment as this will help them to be more relaxed.

What if my dog's nervous/reactive?

If you're dog is nervous/reactive, we recommend booking the fitting during our quieter times: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday mornings. Alternatively, we offer virtual fittings (see below).

How do we book an in-store fitting?

To book an in-store fitting, use the scheduling tool below.

I have more than one dog. Can I bring them to the same appointment?

You are welcome to bring more than one dog but to ensure we have enough time for the fittings, please book each dog their own 30-min slot.

Please note that there is a buffer time of 15 minutes in between slots. Therefore, if you are booking back-to-back slots, the start times will be 45-mins apart.

Virtual Fittings

If your dog is nervous of other dogs and/or people please consider whether bringing them into the shop is best for your dog and those around them. We can recommend and fit equipment from pictures and measurements and you can exchange or return it if it's still not the right fit.

Whilst we endeavor to find the best fit for your dog, the final decision to purchase is your responsibility. We strongly recommend you do not have your dog wear the harness outside until you are 100% happy with how it fits.
